The Cloud Harp can be described as a meteo-electronic instrument which, thanks to an infrared laser beam, converts the structure of clouds into sound or music. The collected data is used to modulate a series of sampled or synthesized sounds, and also to elaborate, in real time, the sound waves which will compose the different tonalities emitted by the instrument. The Cloud Harp is also known as the Keplerian Harp after German astronomer Johannes Kepler (1571-1630), who first came up with the term [music of the spheres]. The Cloud Harp now hosts its electronic components in an architectonic nomadic sculpture created for its first concert at the Théâtre du Châtelet, Paris, 2006.
