[h=3]Coldest Air to remain over Asia for much of October [h=5]October 08, 2013; 12:51 AM All indications are that the core of the coldest air in the northern Hemisphere will remain on the other side of the pole in northern Asia through much of the remainder of this month, but there are some hints that things will shift around as we get into November.
No real sustained cold weather expected across Canada the next few weeks, though there will be some spells of chilly weather across western Canada from time to time, while mild conditions will be more common in the East.
This type of pattern may favor more storminess across the U.S. Rockies with a potential for more early season snow in the high country over the next 15-20 days.
Below is the Monday update of the ECMWF long range model. By the way, the ECMWF seasonal outlook gets updated Tuesday. This should provide some additional clues about the upcoming winter.
FYI, we will be releasing the AccuWeather Canada winter outlook next week.
