The active weather in western Europe will continue on Monday with a storm bringing strong wind gusts and rain.
A potent storm system will aim for southern England and Wales late on Sunday night and through the morning on Monday before shifting to the Netherlands and Belgium for most of Monday.
A less powerful wind event will precede the Sunday night storm, moving wind gusts to 40 mph through Ireland, Wales, Scotland and England during the day on Sunday, especially near the coastline. This is the same storm that will dump rain and bring gusting winds to tailgaters of the
NFL game at Wembley Stadium in London.

Winds with this storm Monday are expected to hit the northern coast of France, southern England, much of Belgium and into Netherlands with gusts of over 90 kph (50 mph) and even some of the stronger gusts to hurricane-force winds.
Paris, France and London, England look to be inland enough to avoid much of the problem with these winds. However, even there winds could gust to 70 kph (40 mph), and along with the heavy rainfall, there could be trees and power lines downed.
Amsterdam, Netherlands and Antwerp, Belgium, are looking to see some of the strongest winds with this storm, as sustained winds on Monday look to be near 80 kph (50 mph) on its own with gusts to near 110 kph (70 mph). This could not only cause power outages and tree damage, there could be structural damage and any large profile vehicles could be overturned.

This storm threat will begin to come to an end in the afternoon for much of England and western France while much of Belgium and Netherlands will have to wait until after Monday night for these winds to diminish.
In addition to wind, flooding rain also threatens the area. With the potential for inches of rain to fall in just a few hours, in addition to the rain falling from the active pattern lately, ponding on the roadways and flooding are concerns across the southern United Kingdom.
